Well, when I looked at it myself, I got as far as "there’s some more complicated top-fit-to-width kind of jiggery going on" and stopped once the results were not quite horrible. And that when you guys got at the same problem you didn't stop until you'd nailed it down to exact pixel accuracy, well, that struck me as amusingly playing to stereotype :) Heh.
